THINGS TO DO IN THE SOLOMON ISLANDS

DIVING

The waters around the Solomon Islands are filled with life, and this location offers some of the world’s best diving.

Manta rays, colourful coral and amazing drop-offs are just some of the underwater sites you’ll see while diving this underwater playground.

Scuba dive to the Iron Bottom Sound off Guadalcanal Island to view the remains of dozens of ships, submarines and aircraft.

Solomon Islands diving is world-famous and you don’t want to miss out on this!

HIKING

There are many wonderful hiking opportunities around Honiara for those of varying fitness levels.

Plan a day trip and you can choose from a range of incredible waterfalls like the Borare Cascades, Tenaru Falls and Mataniko Falls.

Please note that there may be ‘kastom’ fees requiring payment in order to hike at some locations.

HISTORY

For those interested in history, there is plenty to see when you visit Honiara and the Solomon Islands.

You can learn about ceremonial sites and delve into the Solomon Islands’ cultural history at various locations around the archipelago.

If you have an interest in war history, the Solomon Islands campaign was a pivotal part of WWII. You can still see many remaining artefacts around the islands.

While you can see many reminders of WWII underwater, for those preferring to keep their feet planted firmly on land, you can view relics from military camps like at the site of the Betikama School and tunnels on the island of Tulagi.
